Amherst Orthodontics is looking for a Insurance Coordinator to join our well-established, quality practice in Amherst, NH.

About the role - key
Responsibilities:
Verifying the patient's health insurance benefits prior to patient arriving for exam.
Entering insurance data in Practice Management System.
Generating reports for all activities.
Following up on non-paid insurance claims.
Managing late payments and overdue insurance accounts.
Processing insurance payments and refunds.
Submitting documentation to insurance companies and/or Clearing House.
Reconciliation of bulk payments to Practice Management System.
Monitoring weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to confirm payment from clients and insurance companies.
Preparing financial agreements and entering contracts in Practice Management System.
Explaining financial agreement and insurance benefits to patients.
Ensure all patients are placed in the appropriate active status for accurate tracking.
Post all charges and payments.
Post all adjustments and discounts with appropriate justification and comments in the Practice Management System.
Manage and follow up with all AR accounts by following up with delinquent accounts.
Renegotiate financial agreements as needed to maximize collections.
Complete day/month end reporting and reconciliation.
Responsible for petty cash.
Scheduling and answering a multi-line phone About you:
Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and mange difficult conversations when needed.
Have excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail and accuracy.
Are a team player with a positive attitude.
Qualifications you bring:
Dental insurance billing and claims processing experience preferred.
Accounts receivable experience preferred.
Customer service experience.
Ease with Microsoft Office applications.
